Seals for Medical Applications

The Seals and Bearings business has a proven track record in supplying high quality components for the Medical Industry. Our ability to manufacture complex, multi-component carbon and alumina parts in high volumes means we are perfectly placed to meet the high-volume demand for single-use medical equipment.

Our alumina and carbon seals are commonly used in pump applications for blood apheresis plasma separation. In addition to seals, our alumina spacer parts for use within micro-dosing pumps are produced to precise dimensions and very fine tolerances.

Perfectly suited to medical applications, our alumina (grade Hilox 882) and carbon (grade AG31/T931) offers strong crack resistance with great compressive strength, along with precision dimension control with a flatness tolerance of ~5 microns, ensuring sufficient flatness to avoid any leakage.

Whereas Hilox 991 provides high chemical resistance, useful in medical application to ensure there is no corrosion by disinfectants or bodily fluids. 

In addition to alumina parts, we produce electrodes for Haemodialysis application. The electrode is made with Morgan AB170/T that is a resin impregnated carbon-graphite with the required level of conductivity and high tightness level, helping the dialysis fluid composition to be quickly assessed by conductivity measurements.
