Why choose Morgan Luminex MgO Components?
Luminex magnesium oxide is made from seawater precipitated magnesium oxide. The high magnesia content and low impurities make for a consistent material and minimal traces of boron and cadmium allow for low neutron capture. Principal material characteristics include:
Luminex magnesium oxide is made from seawater precipitated magnesium oxide. The high magnesia content and low impurities make for a consistent material and minimal traces of boron and cadmium allow for low neutron capture. Principal material characteristics include:
- High-temperature capability - up to 1500oC
- Excellent electrical resistance
- Excellent thermal conductor
- Compactable
- Tailorable particle size distribution, porosity and crushability
Luminex can be extruded for uniform shapes or injection moulded for more complex shapes and additional features. Typical applications include but are not limited to crushable tubes for mineral insulated (MI) cable, thermocouple wire for both aerospace and automotive applications, cartridge heaters, electrical substrates and medium-voltage heaters.
