  • Non-porous and vacuum tight
  • Corrosion resistant

The combination of this material''s properties and features make this a good choice for applications such as hard wearing, chemically resistant counterface seals for automotive water pumps, electrical stress relieving equipment for welding operations, electrically insulative components for domestic and industrial equipment.

Hilox™ 961 (96% Alumina)

This material is a high quality alumina ceramic of 96% AL2O3 content. Excellent mechanical characteristics make this an ideal material for components where resistance to dynamic wear and abrasive action are prime factors.  This material benefits from the following features:

  • Exceptionally hard-wearing
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • High compressive and flexural strengths
  • Dense, non-porous and vacuum tight
  • Excellent dimensional stability across very wide temperature range
  • Resists chemical attack

The excellent properties and features of this material make this suited to applications such as valve plates for liquid and gas control systems: industrial and domestic applications.

Hilox 965 and Hilox 991 (99% Alumina)

This 99% alumina material was developed for abrasive resistance and mechanical strength in chemically aggressive environments.  This material features:

  • Excellent resistance to corrosion and chemical attack
  • Exceptionally hard-wearing and abrasion resistant
  • Dense, non-porous and vacuum tight
  • Excellent dimensional stability across wide temperature range

This hard wearing material features in many products within pumping applications including, wear resistant components for rotary and reciprocating pumps handling chemically aggressive media: shafts, bearings, thrust washers, plungers, counterface seals, etc.
